Introduction
The Department of Clothing at Konkuk University (KU) is divided into the majors 1) Apparel Design and Total Coordination, 2) Fashion Marketing, and 3) Clothing Construction and Clothing Comfort Science.
The objective of the majors Apprel Design and Total Coordination, Fashion Marketing, and Clothing Construction and Clothing Comfort Science is to enhance students’ understanding as well as functional knowledge and skills regarding clothing-related demands. We take into account the characteristics of the study of clothing as a whole including functionality, product planning and marketing, and creative design development in accordance with a balanced consideration of aesthetic, social, and scientific factors.
In addition to academic research, the ultimate goal of these majors is the development of field experts able to work in a range of professions. We aim to foster professionals capable of meeting the demands of society in a rapidly changing, competitive age. We try to cultivate outstanding and creative talent through even more systematic and defined academic research in the area of clothing studies. We offer both Master's and Ph.D. degrees with majors available in Apparel Design and Total Coordination, Fashion Marketing, and Clothing Construction and Clothing Comfort Science. We will continue our endeavors in producing refined and talented professionals who set lofty objectives for themselves and helping them achieve the very best in their chosen major.
