Welcome to the website of the College of Engineering at KU.
The College of Engineering was founded in 1966 as the Department of Engineering of the College of Science and Technology and reorganized as the College of Engineering in 1969. It has since grown to more than 130 faculty members and 4,000 students.
Over the years, the College of Engineering has cultivated many talents, leading the national science and technology as an engineering school focused on creative research to pioneer the country's future. In recent years, the College of Engineering has set a new vision for research and education with the "College of Engineering Vision 2031" development plan, which is being proactively promoted.
In the field of research, we strive for creativity and innovation to become a top-ranked research-oriented engineering college in Korea. We are promoting innovative changes in the graduate school to strengthen our research capabilities and continue to invite professors in cutting-edge fields. We derive excellent research that creates original technologies in new growth engine business fields through the interdisciplinary convergence of NT/BT/ICT convergence, eco-friendly/energy, component materials, AI, and big data.
In education, we are striving to realize advanced education that responds to the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution. We are working to solidify primary engineering education through the Engineering Certification Program and to realize undergraduate education that strengthens fundamentals and practice by implementing a project-based curriculum, including on-the-job training.
In addition, we are improving the learning infrastructure to achieve research-oriented education, establishing an engineering hub that connects R&D - education, promotion, and securing a smart factory laboratory. After the construction of the new engineering building with an area of 24,793 m², we strive to provide a higher level of education in a better environment by continuously promoting the completion of the new engineering building plan (38,016 m²) with large-scale state-of-the-art facilities.
Creativity and innovation are the core values of the College of Engineering at Konkuk University. We hope that many excellent talents with dreams of becoming future-oriented and creative engineers will join us and together build a proud College of Engineering at KU.
