Konkuk University Museum has been collecting and displaying Korean artifacts since March 1963. Today, its collection includes over 5,300 items, including pottery, wooden and metal crafts, paintings, books, and pagodas that date from the Paleolithic era to the Joseon Dynasty. The most notable item is the Dongguk Jeong-un (東國正韻), which was designated the 142nd National Treasure of Korea. Known as the “Dictionary of Proper Korean Pronunciation of Chinese Characters,” it was printed in 1448 by royal scholars at the behest of King Sejong.
The museum provides tours for foreign students and visitors on a regular basis.
