About the Department

The department was established in April 2008 as the Department of International Studies with the goal of developing globally minded international professionals and developing and operating internationalization-related programs. In March 2011, the Chinese Trade and Business major was established, and in March 2016, the department was renamed as the Department of Global Business, and since March 2016, international students from China have been admitted to the department.
In March 2018, the department was reorganized as the Department of Global Business in the College of Social Sciences. We specialize in trade and business with China, which has become the center of the world in the 21st century. We aim to train global business professionals are fluent in both English and Chinese. In particular, the department operates a 2+2 dual degree program with Nanjing University in China.
