Economics is an academic discipline that deals with the choices we make in everyday life. It begins with how we allocate resources on a daily basis and seeks to balance efficiency and equity with development and the environment. Economics is a science based on theory and empirical analysis, but it is also a practical discipline that seeks to improve the quality of life. We focus on both theoretical education to support theoretical inquiry and empirical analysis of economic phenomena, applied education to produce economic professionals fit for the information and knowledge society, and liberal arts education to cultivate the economic mindset required in the era of globalization to produce leaders who will lead the 21st century.
