Mechanical and aerospace engineering is the foundation of all industries and offers many opportunities. Our graduates are employed in the automotive industry, electronics industry, heavy industry, construction plants, aerospace aircraft research and development companies and aircraft operators, avionics and mechatronics companies, sectors that require the use of automotive, autonomous intelligence, and IT technologies, and public enterprises. In addition, they enter the civil service or specialized professions (patent attorneys, professional consultants), as well as government-funded research institutes, and many continue to engage in academic research as professors and researchers after completing their graduate degrees. The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering aims to educate students with the skill and qualities to plan, design, build, and operate various mechanical and aeronautical systems that are the foundation of all industries. The Mechanical Engineering Enhancement Program provides education and research in emerging academic fields such as nano, bio, robotics, smart factory, and artificial intelligence, as well as academic fields that are fundamental to various industries such as automotive, heavy industry, shipbuilding/offshore, construction/plant, and electronics.
In addition, we systematically provide the basic science and applied mechanics knowledge necessary for interdisciplinary applications in line with the 4th Industrial Revolution. We run hands-on education and research programs focusimg on dynamics and control, thermofluids and energy, design and materials, and manufacturing and automation to adapt to the demand for workers in high value-added new growth industries actively promoted by the government. The Mechanical Engineering Enhancement Program is designed to provide a structured curriculum for the development of comprehensive design skills, preparing students for expertise and outstanding leadership in various mechanical engineering applications. Our graduates can work in various fields such as automobile, electronics, heavy industry, shipbuilding/offshore, construction/plant, national research institutes, and public enterprises and start their business ventures, significantly improving national competitiveness. They can also attend graduate school and conduct world-class research. The Aerospace Engineering Enhancement Program conducts education and research in areas related to flight principles, analysis, and design of flying vehicles (aircraft, launch vehicles, spacecraft, satellites, etc.), design, fabrication, and performance evaluation of avionics and flight control systems, and convergence technologies between aerospace, IT, and systems engineering.
The 21st century requires the active use of information and communication (IT) and artificial intelligence technologies in traditional aerospace systems and next-generation unmanned aerial vehicles. Therefore, we actively reflect aerospace system development technologies suitable for a ubiquitous society in our curriculum and cultivate creative talents with global competitiveness through advanced practice-oriented lectures. Graduates can pursue careers in a variety of aerospace systems engineering-based specialties, including aerospace aircraft research and development companies, aircraft operators, avionics and mechatronics companies, automotive and other industries that require the use of autonomous intelligence and IT technologies, and related research institutes, conduct go on to graduate school to perform world-class research.
