Introduction
The Department of History at Konkuk University (KU) is composed of an undergraduate (bachelor's) and graduate programs (master's and Ph.D. programs in Korean History, Oriental History, and Western History), in addition to a Graduate School of Education (History Education Major), all with the objective of producing cultured graduates with an accurate view of history at the forefront of the academic field of history in the 21st century.
The main objective of the KU Department of History is the fostering of historians and intellectuals, workers and researchers in the field of history with the ability to discover and organize cultural relics. In addition to research and education on museology and Western and Eastern history, emphasis is placed on the study of Korean history for the purpose of reinforcing the status of Korean culture in the context of world cultures.
