Systems biotechnology is a core technology that can efficiently produce existing bio-products or design and produce new bio-products by artificially manipulating bio-networks through a systematic understanding of biological mechanisms. By moving away from the traditional trial-and-error approach to bioprocess development and designing organisms at the biosystem level, the overall efficiency of bioprocess development can be significantly improved. The Department of Systems Biotechnology aims to develop biotechnology leaders with scientific and engineering skills and integrated problem-solving abilities to analyze and develop whole biological systems.
