Energy Engineering is an interdisciplinary field that organically integrates fundamental science with applications to actively respond to the next generation energy industry. The Department of Energy Engineering focuses on education, research, and development in advanced theoretical and practical energy conversion/storage and demand management technologies. We provide students with advanced theoretical and practical skills in energy conversion, storage, and demand management. In particular, energy conversion and storage (energy conversion display, renewable energy, CCS, energy materials, sustainable energy, ESS) is the next growth engine industry.
Thus, our program promotes technological advances in energy conversion displays (LED, OLED/PLED, etc.), renewable energy (solar cells, fuel cells, etc.), and energy storage (secondary batteries, ESS, smart grids, etc.). By developing human resources in the field of new and renewable energy convergence, we will enable our students to take responsibility for future climate change and national energy security.

Educational Goals
- 1Considering the vision, talents, and educational goals of Konkuk University, we derived the educational goals.
- 2The ICT convergence and wearable display industry, ESS, solar cells, and other renewable energy for climate change response, future new energy industry, and the smart grid industry are developing rapidly worldwide.
- 3We aim to cultivate and produce specialized human resources needed by industries in the above fields by educating students on the principles and applications of energy storage and production (conversion), energy utilization, and demand management.
