The Dr. Jeong Overseas Program has been implemented since 2012, when Dr. Geon-Soo Jeong, President of the KU Alumni Association, donated more than KRW 100 million in scholarship funds annually with great intention. The program selects outstanding students who are committed to academic research and enables them to pursue their dreams and courage as global leaders.

Meaning and Purpose
- Named after Dr. Geon-Soo Jeong, the 30th, 31st, 33rd, 34th, 37th and 38th president of the Alumni Association, it means to produce excellent graduates who share the vision the development of the university.
- It aims to strengthen global competitiveness and motivate learning by experiencing European history and culture and advanced educational sites through the program.
Schedule and Highlights
- Application and selection process during the 1st semester, followed by field trips during the summer vacation
- The program lasts approximately 2 weeks, which can be shortened or extended depending on the region and the program theme.
- Major themes are determined annually to reflect global trends and social issues, and regions and countries are selected accordingly.
- Visit Europe's leading developed countries
- Students will be assigned with 3 to 4 advisors, including local experts, to prioritize the safety of the students.
The program is subject to change according to local conditions.
This program is not for students to explore the area individually but to explore the area in a group with a guide (faculty or staff).
- This program is open to students from both KU's Seoul Campus and Glo-cal Campus. See the announcement for each year for the number of students selected.
Eligibility
- Undergraduate students for a minimum of 2 semesters and a maximum of 7 semesters at the time the tour is announced.
- Students enrolled in the College of Veterinary Medicine for a minimum of 2 semesters and a maximum of 11 semesters.
- Transfer students enrolled in at least 2 semesters at KU
- Exemptions
- Participants in overseas programs (New Frontier, Dr. Jung Program)
- Participants who have participated in 2 or more overseas programs organized by KU
- Participants in the same year's overseas program
Example) International Office Overseas Program, Overseas Volunteer Program of Sang-Huh College, etc. - Credit exchange students, part-time enrollment students, Future Knowledge Education Center students
- Cancel selection of Selection
- Failure to pay the participation fee and visitation deposit after final acceptance
- Failure to undergo a medical examination
- Failure to attend orientation, photo and video shoot, and pre-training events such as induction ceremonies. Failure to complete an assignment
- Those who do not have the qualities to participate in the program.
- Those who take a leave of absence after the final selection

- The tour area may be changed before departure or during the tour due to local conditions (natural disasters, war risk, disease-infected regions, etc.).

- Pre-report and post-report
- Other activities suggested by the student support team, etc.
