The Konkuk University (KU) Department of Contemporary Art aims at fostering artists capable of standing shoulder to shoulder with and competing against the best overseas artists in the rapidly expanding global art world. We have acknowledged the need for an established educational strategies designed to address the interest and demand of young artists in their 20s and 30s in light of the characteristics of contemporary art and its pursuit of a new paradigm. We help students develop the necessary expertise and credentials that are required for performing their complex roles as artists in locales where contemporary art can be found in which a range of different mediums of expression coexist.
