International Business | This course provides students with an understanding of how to manage international business in global business environment. The course focuses on both global business environment and international business management, so the topics covered include globalization, international trade, foreign direct investment, foreign exchange, global strategy, foreign market entry, global production and supply chain management, and global marketing. These topics are also discussed in conjunction with Korea and Korean companies. |
K-Psychology: View of Koreans and Korean Culture | The objectives of this course are to learn about the characteristics of the Koreans and Korean society through the lens of psychology, as well as to explore the student's own culture through comparisons with Korean culture. Psychology is a discipline that helps us understand human behavior and the society that is cosisted of human behavior. Therefore, through the study of psychology, you can gain a deeper understanding of Korean culture and your own culture. In particular, in this class, you will understand cultural differences from a psychological perspective and explore the characteristics of Korean culture and society that emerge from cultural differences. In addition, you will discover the characteristics of your own culture that are different from the Korean culture. |
Exploring the vibrant world of K-Art (and K-pop) | Discover the dynamic interply between K-Art and K-Pop, exploring their cultural impact and creative fusion in contemporary media and global trends |
Korean Language(beginner) | This course is aimed at students who do not have knowledge of the Korean language or are very limited. The course aims to give students an understanding of the Korean language and help them acquire basic communication skills of the modern Korean language. ∙ You will learn the basics of Korean consonants and vowels, the formation of syllables, and the basic sentence structure. ∙ Through listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises, students can talk about simple topics in their daily lives. ∙ You will understand simple Korean texts and learn how to write about your daily life. |
Korean Language(intermediate) | This course is designed for foreign students and aims to teach Korean characters, pronunciation, and sentence structures through various activities. The course encourages students to improve their communication skills in Korean. After this course, students will be able to make conversations using simple Korean sentences. |
Understanding Korean Society through Music | This course offers a dynamic exploration of music to understand the Korean Society. In this course, students will gain fresh perspectives on Korean globalized music and culture through selected music examples (from Korean traditional music, Kukak to K-pop). Students will gain insight into the social and historical context of Korean music. Utilizing multimedia resources and interdisplinary approaches, students will develop broader cultural perspectives and understanding of the Korean music and society. |
South Korean Politics and Foreign Policy | The course is structured to foster a comprehensive understanding of South Korea's political evolution, economic development, societal changes, and cultural impacts on the global stage. Students will engage with the challenges and opportunities facing South Korea today, including inter-Korean relations, security concerns, and its strategic role amid rising global tensions and alliances. |
All courses are conducted in English and the following academic credits may be transferred to your home institution. Students will earn up to 6 credits after successful completion of two of the ISP sessions.
The total amount of class time for each course which includes in-class lectures, discussions, self-study and assignments is up to 48 hours. Academic performance of a student will be assessed at the end of the program, and a certificate of completion will be issued as requested. Students will be informed of the finalized course schedule by email prior to their arrival.
Transcript and Credit Transfer
Upon a student’s request, a certified transcript will be sent to the home institution after the completion of the program. While most partner institutions accept Konkuk’s credits, students are advised to confirm the details with their advisors prior to application.
