About OIA
Under the mission of achieving world-class education, joint research and knowledge generation, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) is committed to the core values of mutual cooperation, sincere communication and dedicated effort. The history of OIA started in 1981 as a hub for globalization fulfilling its core values. Over the past 40 years, OIA has served a pivotal role to develop strategic planning for the globalization of Konkuk University.
Konkuk University is ranked 93rd in the QS Asia University Rankings (2020), 58th in the ranking of Asia Pacific’s Most Innovative Universities by Reuter (2019) and 10th in the reputation ranking of the JoongAng Daily’s University Rankings (2019). As one of the most recognized universities inside and outside of Korea, Konkuk University has established its status of a top-tier university. We have a large community with more than 2,000 international students, professors and researchers here at Konkuk University. About 1,600 undergraduate students, 450 exchange students, 300 short-term program students and 2,500 language program students around the globe are enrolled in Konkuk University and make their visits to Seoul campus every year. As for outbound exchange programs, more than 700 Konkuk students are annually participating in the programs at overseas universities.
The OIA is a strong partner, a supporter and a guardian not just for Konkuk students but for all foreign students, professors and researchers. We seek to develop the best facilities, systems and learning environment for every member while ensuring them with equal rights to pursue their academic dreams during their stay at Konkuk University. Above all, we promise to make our best efforts to help our students deal with challenges and communicate with them to offer once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

- Development of strategic planning and international cooperation with overseas universities and research organizations
- International partnerships: Signing of Memoranda of Understanding and agreement management
- Operation of Outbound Programs for Konkuk students: Study Abroad and Overseas Internship Programs in the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe
- Operation of Inbound Programs for foreign students: Exchange Student Program, Visiting Student Program and international Summer/Winter Programs
- Reception of foreign visitors and protocols
- Management of English website
- Publication of English brochures and newsletter
