The Korean Immigration Office accepts applications for visa extensions from four months before the expiration date. And so, you should be fully aware of the expiration date in order to apply to extend your stay in the country. Otherwise, you will have to pay fines! The following items listed below are required to bring with you to the Office:
1. Application form (found at www.hikorea.go.kr/Main.pt or the Administrative Office of the Language Institute)
2. Passport
3. Korean Residence Card
4. Certificate of enrollment
5. Transcript(s)
6. Proof of residence
7. Financial statement (only for those students who have overall GPA less than 2.0)
8. Confirmation of enrollment (undergraduate students only) or thesis advisor confirmation form (graduate students only)
9. Cash
